Getting to Winton
Rail
Spirit of the Outback rail services run twice-weekly to and from Brisbane to Longreach. There is a coach link to Winton.

Air
West Wing Aviation services Winton. There are flights on Tuesday and Thursday into Winton, on a loop departing from Townsville, which connect with Qantas Link flights in Longreach. Please be aware when flying in to Winton that the Airport is located 5km from the town, so be sure to organise an airport pick up. Winton does not currently have a taxi service, so ask at your accommodation provider if they would be willing to provide a pick up service.

An alternative to flying directly into Winton is to take the daily Qantas Link flight from Brisbane to Longreach, where there are several hire car companies available - Avis and Budget.

Bus
Daily Greyhound coach services operated from Brisbane to Mt Isa and return, and these stop in Winton. There are also Greyhound services operating from Longreach to Emerald.

Bore Water Castle Hill

Winton Shire has the hottest artesian water bore in Australia at Castle Hill Station, 100km west of the town. The water comes to the surface at 99C degrees from a depth of 1379m.
